Atlas Peak Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2003

The 2003 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon holds true to site with its impressive balance and deep coloring. The aromas are a combination of ripe dark fruits. Powerful fruit flavors create a long, lingering finish of rich blueberry on the palate leaving the mouthfeel of firm velvet and generous, but not harsh, tannins. This 2003 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is well suited for lamb steaks with Greek-inspired tomato sauce.

Wine Enthusiast Immensely ripe, just explosive in young Cabernet flavors, and wrapped in those Howell tannins that require extensive cellaring. The wine, nearly 100% Cab, is totally dry and very oaky, from 100% new, small French barrels. But it’s easily big enough in black currant, cherry and cocoa flavors to handle all that wood.
